CIRENCESTER’S darts star Paul Boulton has now qualified for the FA Cup of darts – The Speedy Services UK Open Finals – in which he could take on the top names in the sport.
Boulton made it through to the national finals by defeating Craig Ashwood in a one-leg game of 701 at the qualifying event in Cardiff.
He now heads to the finals at the De Vere Whites Hotel in Bolton on June 7.
The Speedy Services UK Open is unique in the PDC calendar of major tournaments as it brings together some the country’s top amateur players in the draw with the leading 96 players in the world.
Paul, 46, a Wiltshire county player, famously threw a nine-dart finish for Cirencester’s Cotswold Club in a Swindon & District League match last year.
Paul is still looking for a local sponsor to help him continue with his darting career. For more details contact Martin Toomer of MCT Promotions on 07515 820541.
