Cheltenham League Div 2.

Northway 3, Bibury FC 5.

BIBURY showed the other side of their game when they battled hard to clinch the title at Northway.

Bibury had the better of the opening exchanges with Kanne Outram heading just over and James Keylock having a shot well saved, but it was Northway who took the lead when Bibury failed to deal with a cross.

Shortly after, it took a great save from keeper George Bull to prevent Bibury from falling further behind.

But they levelled the scores soon after when Scott Huband played in Ashley Rockley to score.

Approaching half-time, Bibury should have taken the lead – firstly a cross from Huband evaded everyone to go harmlessly wide, then Outram fired just over the bar.

Bibury started the second period at a fast tempo and two minutes into the half took the lead as Huband again played in Rockley, who finished well.

Two minutes later, Rockley completed his hat-trick after he cut in from out wide and beat a couple of defenders before firing the ball past the Northway keeper.

Huband had a great chance to increase the lead but shot wide before Northway pulled a goal back when a cross was headed home at the far post.

The Northway equaliser came on 75 minutes – again a header at the far post. But the score was only level for a couple of minutes as Bibury midfielder John Austin fired in from a narrow angle after good work from Huband.

Minutes later Huband completed the scoring when finishing off a cross from Keylock.
