BASHLEY had one shot in the first half which went in so I thought we were good value for our 2-1 lead at half-time.

We created a lot of chances in the second half, as you would expect playing with three up front, but it is always nervous as you approach the 90th minute with only a one-goal cushion.

But it would have a travesty if Bashley had got anything out of the game.

Jeffrey Imudia has come in a right back on loan from Forest Green and I thought he did okay.

No one got past him in one-on-ones and he got forward well in the second half.

Playing 4-3-3 is difficult for full backs because they have to defend but, because we are so narrow in midfield, they are expected to get forward as well.

Full backs are key in that system so I should also put in a good word for Richard Mansell, who has joined us from Bishops Cleeve.

I have tried to get Manse for two years and he, along with striker Ashley Edenborough, have proved good additions to the squad.

It looks as if Forest Green want Imudia back for their Tuesday night game at Rushden, so there will be more chopping and changing for the visit of Salisbury.

We have got nothing to lose against them and I suppose we must take some encouragement from the fact that they shipped six goals to Truro, were beaten by Weymouth and struggling Didcot held them to a draw on Saturday.

We are not going to play them off the park so we will try to get in amongst them and make it ugly.

Matt Sysum is banned for the Salisbury game, Eggy misses Oxford City on Saturday, which is also when Reidy’s three-match ban starts. On top of that, Bully is unavailable on Saturday so I am casting around for a keeper as well.
