Lechlade 223-9.

Winsley 173 all out.

LECHLADE proved 50 runs too good for an in-form Winsley side who had won their first two games.

Lechlade, fresh from their own 98-run win the previous week, were invited to bat.

With Adrian Stenner starting cautiously as opposed to his blistering recent 133, Ross Jeffels, newly promoted to opener for 2010, scored his second 50 of the season with 57 off only 70 balls.

Brandon Handley was the glue of the innings with a well-made 47, and with both George Brooksbank and captain Paul Godding chipping in, the Lechlade innings closed on 223-9.

That was a few runs and a batting point short of what it should have been, a testament to the hard work Winsley put in, with Rob Murphy picking up wickets in his second spell to finish with 3-54, while Josh Rurawhe had figures of 4-60.

In reply, Lechlade struck in the first over with Brooksbank removing Charlie Holton. Despite Mark Williams’s fine 25, and contributions from Adrian Swinburne (20) and Kevin Hendy (25), no-one made the 50+ innings required to mount a charge towards Lechlade's total.

For Lechlade, the wickets were shared around between George Brooksbank (2-57), Stenners (2-24), Archie Brooksbank (3-36) and Handley (2-21).

For Lechlade, it was a good win against a leading side, though both batting and bowling could have been more clinical.
