The previous Tuesday night, after the win over Yate, the squad was flying and cock-a-hoop. Now, two games later, the bubble appears to have burst.
After the run of clean sheets we have let in four very soft goals in two games.
And we are hardly looking like scoring at the moment. We played all five centre forwards on Tuesday night at North Leigh and only one of them had a shot.
We are going to have to get our heads round what has gone wrong when we are in for training on Thursday.
We have suddenly stopped looking a threat going forward. The one occasion we got behind the North Leigh defence, we scored.
We were never outplayed and the display was a bit better than Uxbridge – at least we had a bit of a go – but we let them score with their first shot and their second goal came at a crucial time as well.
When Carl Brown got a goal back there were still 11 minutes left and we were more of a threat in that period than in the previous 79 minutes.
Of course, it will be good to have Neil Griffiths back on Sunday for the home game with Paulton Rovers, but that is not the only problem. We have to get back on track quickly.
