ONCE again the wet weather was responsible for seven of the 15 scheduled Cirencester League matches being postponed, with two of the other eight only going ahead after a ground switch, writes Phil Smith.
Thankfully, the top-of-the-table clash between Bibury and Avonvale went ahead resulting in a 3-1 win for the Vale.
Further good news for Avonvale was that their nearest challengers lost unbeaten records.
Ashton Keynes went down to a surprise 2-1 home defeat by Oaksey and reigning champions South Cerney lost 2-0 at Real Fairford, who are recovering after a poor start to their season.
The other game in Division 1 saw CHQ United record their second win of the season with a 5-3 defeat of Kingshill Sports.
In Division 2, Bibury Reserves are now the only unbeaten side in the league after they won 5-1 at Oaksey Reserves.
Minety Reserves remain second after they beat Poulton Reserves 7-1. Lechlade lost further ground after drawing 2-2 with Corinium Sports.
