A SET of ten-year-old triplets from Nailsworth have come away with a national team title at the British Modern Pentathlon Championships in Wolverhampton.
Thomas Kendell and his brothers Harry and Edward, who attend Beaudesert Park School in Minchinhampton, took first place in the British Boys Youth E (age ten) section of the championships.
The boys, all members of the Beaufort Modern Pentathlon Club, have to take part, appropriately, in all three disciplines of the sport – running, swimming and shooting.
The event took place at Wolverhampton Central Baths, Aldersley Leisure Centre and the National Indoor Shooting Centre.
Individually, Thomas finished fifth, while Harry was ninth and Edward 12th. Several personal bests were recorded Another Beaufort club member, Sasha Green, finished fifth overall "The boys all swim with Gloucester City Swimming Club under the head coach Graham Brookhouse, himself a former Olympic medallist in Modern Pentathlon and this has undoubtedly helped with their success," said their dad Philip.
