New boys Real lift the Junior Charities Cup

Junior Charities Cup Final.

Avonvale Reserves 0 Real Fairford Res 2.

REAL were clearly ready to put Thursday night’s disappointment behind them. Having fought out a 2-2 draw with Avonvale in the league on Saturday, manager Andy Wilson knew what was necessary to win the game.

Real Reserves started brightly with Olly Taylor controlling midfield along with Danny Pugh Andy Porter and Henry Rogers.

Avonvale were looking tired after 20 minutes as Real kept up the pressure but they could not make the breakthrough.

The strong Real back four of McAleer, Morse, Williams and Edgell were never troubled in the second half and the deadlock was finally broken John Newton found an opening and gave Real a well deserved lead.

From that point it was chance after chance for Real.

The second goal came when Baker used his quick feet to turn two defenders before slotting home.

Britchford, Weaven and McGinn all came on for the last ten minutes to keep things tight.

MoM: Olly Taylor.
