I WAS looking for a 1-0 victory so I suppose we were halfway there.

The boys worked hard and there was excellent commitment but without the suspended Jamie Reid and Carl Brown we lacked quality.

I didn’t think Bracknell threatened at all, in fact it looked like they had come for a point.

If we had got one goal I think we would have been looking at four or five.

We defended well and did more than enough to win the game.

We thought two of the goalmouth scrambles had gone over the line, we have hit the woodwork twice and their keeper had a very good game.

In fact, their two centre backs and the goalie probably kept them in it.

Minno has come off with a nasty gash to his forehead which was glued up rather than stiched at the local hospital.

He’s a big, tough centre half so a bit of sticking plaster and he should be okay for the Bishops Cleeve game on December 27.

Paul Thompson has now left the club. Thommo was still struggling with the knee that he had the operation on three or four months ago and I think it has proved too much for him.

You could say that Tom King had a kick up the backside when he was dropped, but he came back in and did pretty well. You can’t argue with a clean sheet.

Lee Spalding is some way from being fit to play after his ligament trouble and it has been getting him down. But he is now joining in again on Thursday night training.
