FOR the first hour that is the best we have played in my time back at the club.

We had been awful against Burnham the previous Saturday but there was a lot to like about the way we played against Totton, although I never like losing.

They had conceded only 10 goals all season and yet we had scored two goals in the first half an hour and also hit the bar.

At times we ripped them apart and the 4-5-1 formation seemed to work well. We led them twice and were good value for the lead.

“Tom Etheridge came in for his first game and I thought he did well – he has a good engine.

“I preferred Paul Thompson in goal because I think Tom King needed a break.

Totton showed what a good side they are in the second half. I think they are better than Truro and they will definitely be around the top at the end of the season.

They were able to change the manner in which they played in the second half, sat deeper and hit us on the break.

The second goal was a soft one and then they added to it three minutes later. Our confidence is fragile at the moment so then it became hard.

But the way we had played for an hour would have been enough to beat most teams in this league.
