YOU have to take the opposition in context but it was a decent result. I did not think they ever looked like scoring.

I would fancy us to beat anyone at home, it is our away form that is the problem.

The trick is to try and stay in the mix while we are rebuilding the side.

I had a frank chat with the back four and the goalie at training on Thursday and they made the point that we haven’t had a settled back four.

Hopefully, by Christmas we will have everyone we want in place.

We used two Academy boys again. James Guthrie did okay and has to learn how to come to terms with the pace of the game.

Max Etheridge looked good up front and was a constant thorn in their side. And he scored his first senior goal.

Callum Preece had an exceptional game at right full back and is going to be a good player in time.

He didn’t look out of place at this level and the opposition could not believe he is only 15.

He’s a strong boy and did not put a foot wrong.

I’ve got to be mindful that we must protect him so we will pick and choose his games.

We sent Carl Brown on for his debut in the last 20 minutes and even though the wing is not his position you could see his qualities straight away – he brought pace to the game and good touches as well. He took his goal well, too.

The midweek Bridgwater game being off may have helped us as Jamie Reid has got knocks on both ankles and Shaun Wimble is struggling.

We are light in the midfield department, but I have a couple of irons in the fire.
