THE prestigious Dauntsey Park Horse Trials was held last weekend, with a number of local riders amongst the winners. 

The Dauntsey Park Horse Trials (Chippenham, Wiltshire) took place over the weekend, organised by Beanie and Rupert Sturgis.

The equestrian event attracted all standard of riders from Olympic competitors down to local riders who are just starting out in the sport.

Local interest focused on Tom McEwen who had three horses in action with a best result of second, on Our Terry in section B, and a fourth and fifth place finish in the same class.

Young Wiltshire-based rider Ellie Fredericks also had a second-place finish which was the best result of her five rides on Upper Class Brit in section J.

Michael Jackson had a first, second and third from his three rides, with his first-place finish on Karaker W in section I.

Finally, David Doel had six horses out on the event with a first and third-place finish in section G, Galileo Nieuwmoed was his winning mount.
