FAIRFORD TOWN U10s have won a fabulous trip to Wembley after taking part in the 'First for Football' tournament at Swindon Town FC last Saturday.
Nearly 700 youngsters, aged from six to 10, competed on the main pitch at the County Ground in the all-day event sponsored by rail and bus company First Group, which operates First Great Western services in the area.
Fairford will be joined on the trip to Wembley later this summer, when they will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour, by Ramsbury U7s, Croft Juniors U8s and FC Chippenham 'A' U9s.
The four winning teams were chosen by match referees and staff from Swindon Town's Football in the Community Department as a mark of their sportsmanship and attitude on the pitch.
Cirencester U10s also took part, going down to Ferndale-Rodbourne U10s in their respective final.
Sky Sports TV's football presenter Clare Tomlinson - First Group's Ambassador for the day - said: "The attitude of all the players was first class and the skills on show were really impressive."
