Kemble's Ed Lovett and Cirencester's Rob Clarke (pictured) both made excellent starts in the first round of the Special GT Championship at the Castle Combe circuit on Easter Monday.
Lovett was beaten only by the winner Shane Marshall of Westbury, while Clarke came home in a creditable fifth place in the event sponsored by website savesometax.co.uk.
Jonathan Wills, also of Cirencester, finished ninth in his section of the National Mobile Windscreens Saloon Car Championship, which was won by Mark Wyatt of Bristol.
The third championship series to kick off over the Bank Holiday, the Melton Concrete Products Formula Ford 1600, was won by Josh Fisher from Bridgwater.
