Cotswold District Cricket

Division Two

Fairford 2nds 43-0

Cirencester 3rds 176-9

Match abandoned

CIRENCESTER’s meeting with Fairford at the Park Street Ground was abandoned due to adverse weather conditions.

Fairford won the toss and elected to field, which was a decision that backfired after opener Mark Hackett hit 42.

Tom Beattie scored 19 before being caught lbw.

Thomas Rutter (3), Harrison Woodcock (0) and Raife Hackett (2) struggled at the crease, but Sam Howell (41) and Archie Norrie (31) played their part as Cirencester finished on 176-9.

Their total could have been higher if not for Willoughby Norrie (0), Kim Milsom (1), Adam Holmes (1) and Ben Carter (0*).

Fairford’s innings were cut short, with only David Taylor (9*) and Tom Sealey (32*) scoring before the match was abandoned.

Both sides scored six game points and four bowling points for a total of 10 each.

Next up for Cirencester 3rds are Tetbury 2nds on Saturday, August 18.
