Swindon Town have signed midfielder Jak McCourt on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old has signed a one year deal, subject to FA and EFL approval.

He joins after leaving Chesterfield, where he scored six goals in 39 matches for the Spireites, who were relegated from Sky Bet League Two last year.

Robins fans may remember McCourt who scored a stunning 30 screamer at the County Ground in a 2-2 last season.

The former Leicester City man becomes Phil Brown's sixth summer signing.

McCourt told the club's website: "I'm delighted we've finally got it over the line and we can move forward now,

"I'm looking forward to getting a couple of pre-season games under my belt ready for the first game of the season.

"The manager himself and how big the football club is was a big selling point for me.

"It is a football club that wants to get promoted this season and it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down."
