Gloucestershire County League Division One
Poulton 207-9 beat Charlton Kings 89 ao by 118 runs
POULTON continued on their match at the top of the Gloucestershire County League Division One as they demolished Charlton Kings on Saturday.
It was Poulton’s fifth win out of six this season and keeps them four points ahead of second-placed Painswick.
Poulton made 207-9 after batting first. Digby Nuthall laid the foundations as the opener struck 46 before being caught out.
But solid knocks from Jody Lawrence, skipper Ross Cutts, James Newman and an unbeaten 28 from Charlie Buse, who struck two sixes, set a handy total for the bowlers to attack Charlton Kings.
And they did just that in style. Liam Smith took three wickets and Nick Bale also had three victims, with Buse taking two as the Kings had their crown tarnished.
Only three players at the top of the order managed double figures with the rest of team all being dispatched for single totals.
It was all over after 32.5 overs as Charlton Kings were wiped out for just 89.
