CIRENCESTER fielded an over 70s team for the first time when Phoenix Blue travelled to Solihull to play two Birmingham teams in a friendly round-robin tournament.
They won two and drew one of their four matches and narrowly lost the competition on goal difference (one goal).
The enduring competitive nature of the players was highlighted when two Birmingham players were sin-binned in the same game against Cirencester.
Player/manager Phil Rice and captain Charlie Wise were very encouraged by the displays and hope to arrange further games next season.
