CIRENCESTER IGNIS have returned to the Premier Division of the County League after a 67-38 victory over promotion rivals Old Chelts.
Cirencester edged the first quarter of this crucial Division One title fight, 15-11. Sarah Evans and Katie Pauling were on fine shooting form, with Ellen Wood, Lucia Barton, Evie Alder and Jemma Last all catching the eye.
At half-time, Cirencester were leading 33-16. Not wanting to lose momentum, the defensive unit worked well in the third-quarter with Sarah Abbots and Sam Organ getting tips and interceptions. A confident team went in to the final quarter with a well deserved lead of 20 goals. Great movement up court, and notably in the circle by Rosie James resulted in further pressure being exerted.
This victory earns promotion back to the top Premier Division.
