Malmesbury’s school pupil and racing driver Louis Harvey (13) is looking forward to the 2018 racing season when he will again compete against the top Junior TKM drivers in the country.

This will include the Superone British Karting Championship on Sky TV along with other national televised events and club rounds.

In 2017 unknown to Louis he had caught the eye of one of the Karting teams who last weekend invited him to be their test driver for a brand-new Kart chassis being released onto the market. The Klaassen Motorport ARC Shadow had its inaugural test drive at Shenington Kart track in Banbury with Louis at the wheel and looked very strong from the moment it left parc ferme.

Unfortunately, due to the weather the Sunday race meeting had to be cancelled to the young drivers disappointment but that disappointment was short lived as the Klaassen Motorsport team offered to help support Louis’ 2018 season with a works drive, supplying him one of the new chassis for 2018 along with additional support around setup advice. He will also be testing the kart at lots of circuits to ensure the kart setup can be dialled in ahead of any race meetings.

Klaassen Motorsport made the announcement this week on their facebook page and quoted: “We are looking forward to watching this talented youngster thrive this season both in the Super One Series and at other national events and club races. Good luck Louis Harvey for 2018."

His dad Chris Harvey shared the post stating: “2018 should be a really good year with the support of his sponsors and the technical expertise of the Klaassen motorsport team.”

Louis will be out testing the kart again this weekend and will hopefully race it at Rissingon Kart track over the Easter weekend.
