Former Forest Green Rovers favourite Rob Sinclair has joined back up with the club to deliver club soccer camps.

Starting with the Easter camps next month, Sinclair will be delivering the sessions which will be run out of Archway School, Stroud.

“It’s a big project and something I am excited to be part of,” he said ahead of the launch, where he will be visiting pupils at St Matthews Primary School and Woodchester Primary School this afternoon.

“The club got in contact with me about helping them with the community and building a project and we’re going to start off with the soccer camps in the Easter half-term.

“It’s a club where I enjoyed my time, I liked the area and it’s nice to be back helping.

“I’m hoping to be able to build a community project here.”

The Easter Camps will run on Thursday, April 5, and Friday, April 6, offering a fun environment for kids to take part in specialist skills and coaching sessions.

The sessions cost £23 per day and run from 9am until 3.30pm both days*, with Sinclair leading the football sessions for boys and girls aged between four and 12 of all abilities.

Bookings can be made by using the FGR online shop, with a new community booking system that has been invested in by the club in use.

Sinclair is hopeful that his expertise in this field since leaving FGR last year and setting up Sinclair Sports Coaching will make for an enjoyable experience for all children who attend and is excited be linking back up with the club.

“I go into schools and coach different sessions, PE, breakfast clubs, after school clubs, just building my own project back home in Bedford,” he explained.

“It’s good to be part of the football club again, helping them.

“From the primary age, it’s your most important age within sport.

“It can bring a teamwork element, it brings children out of their shells and it’s a proud moment when you’re helping them in that way.

“There will be fun-based games, little World Cup themed activities and it will be enjoyable as well as them learning about the different sides of football.

“It’s exciting and something I am looking forward to getting started.”

Spaces are limited for both days so book early to avoid disappointment.
