BOURTON Roadrunner juniors had three members chosen to represent Gloucestershire Schools in the South West Schools Cross Country Championships in Devon.
The course comprised of a flatter section that was quite difficult, as it was very muddy and quite narrow in parts, an undulating wooded section and the older runners also had to contend with an additional field, with a relatively tough hill.
Kiya Dee and a Dorset runner opened a gap on the rest of the field and although Kiya ran extremely well, the Dorset runner just came out on top at the very end. Sister Taya had a strong run for 41st helping Gloucestershire to a well deserved 2nd place overall.
Emily Field had one of her best races to date with a very good 24th place helping the Gloucestershire team to another excellent second.
All three girls have a great chance in being chosen to represent Gloucestershire Schools in the Schools Nationals in March.
