Stratton U16s 1

Royal Wootton Bassett U16s 7

Despite the best efforts of Julias Efionayi-Stroud and Matthew Price who shared the man-of-the-match, a consolation goal from Kieran Collingwood was all they took from the game at Baunton Lane.

The U10s had numerous chances at Fairford, but couldn't beat the home keeper, whereas the home side scored three from four shots on goal.

Luke Baker was man-of-the-match, whilst hard working and good performances came from Jack Miller and Jayden Mullis.

The U9s produced arguably their best performance of the season with a convincing display against strong opposition.

Despite spending the bulk of the first quarter camped in the opposition’s penalty area they only had one goal to show for their efforts which came from Fin Stratford’s follow up after his penalty had been brilliantly saved.

In the second quarter, Jack Cummins and Dylan Morse combined well for Jack to stroke the ball into the goal before Idris Thomas-Jones added to the scoring tally when he pounced to thump home from close range.

In the third quarter, Fin scored two more goals to complete his hat-trick and Jaden Wiltshire finished sharply to ensure the scoreline reflected the U9s dominance.

Arthur Quli, Luke Dawson, Archie Walker and Ez Allen worked extremely hard to close down the opposition and release their team-mates into space when they had the ball.

Sam Potter had a number of surging runs and although the team didn’t score in the last quarter Dylan was unlucky with a well struck penalty that whistled just the wrong side of the post.

Captain Louis Kingsbury was awarded player of the match for his displays both in and out of goal.
