Earlier, former Cirencester Town striker Jack Watts forced Thom Jonkerman into a save.
Cirencester almost made it 2-0 when substitute Henry Spalding fizzed a shot wide after good work from Forest Green loanne Tommy Anderson in the 75th minute.
Hot-shot striker Ben Whitehead was denied a late goal for Town and Anderson hit the post in the dying embers.
Cirencester entertain Paulton Rovers on Saturday, 3pm.
