Painswick kept up their good league form with an eight-try romp in the mud at Tetbury.

In an explosive start, prop Paul Watson stormed over for a try converted be Craig Mayo. A sharp break from winger Dale Evans put in veteran centre James Harber for an unconverted try.

Hooker Tom Coombs soon powered over from close range with Mayo adding the extras.

Strong pressure from the pack then secured the try bonus point after the referee awarded a penalty try.

Tetbury then applied considerable pressure in the Painswick 22 but the defence held out and following an indiscretion by a Tetbury prop, who was sin-binned, Painswick went the length of the pitch with Neil Churchill touching down in the corner.

The second- half begin with a try from Eti Millward. A superb cross kick from Mayo was skilfully gathered by the ever alert winger Matt Evans to add the seventh try.

Hard working back rower Ben Wood then added a final try converted by Mayo.

This was an excellent performance by Painswick with the forwards dominant in the tight and loose and in particular the front row of Watson, Coombs and youngster Harry Debieux.

Painswick host unbeaten league leaders United Bristol Hospitals at Broadham on Saturday.
