Didcot Town 4 Cirencester Town 0

FOLLOWING the euphoria of six goals against Shortwood United in mid-week, Cirencester were quickly brought back down to earth as Didcot Town scored two goals within the first eight minutes and ran out comfortable winners at 4-0.

Charlie Griffin's side were stung inside two minutes - former Cirencester striker Felipe Barcelos slipping beyond keeper Matt Wieczorek for the opener.

The home side doubled their lead six minutes later when George Reid received the ball from Barcleos and at the second attempt finished into the top right corner.

Reid bagged his second after the break. Cirencester responded, with Ben Whitehead striking the post, Alan Griffin struck the same post and Whitehead had a shot cleared off the line.

During the final minutes, and with the Cirencester defence holding a high line, a through ball down the centre caught them square enabling Barcelos to latch onto the ball and slide it under Wieczorek.

CIRENCESTER'S home game against North Leigh on Tuesday night (7.45pm) is free entry game to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research.
