Fairford Town 1

Oxford City Nomads 3

IT was the proverbial game of two halves at Cinder Lane as Oxford City Nomads made their numerical advantage count to snuff out a determined Fairford Town effort, writes Chris Tanner.

The hosts had started well but after Steve Hall's second yellow card of the game three minutes before the break, the Reds faced an uphill battle to maintain parity after going into the interval at 0-0.

Nomads' top scorer Sami Khawaja broke the deadlock ten minutes into the second period with his 16th goal in 24 outings. Bradley Singh doubled the lead with 67 played before Fairford's top scorer Lee Smith reduced the arrears with a penalty three minutes later.

Fairford put in a stern effort to draw level but a 91st minute from Kreece Martei sealed the points for the visitors on a chilly Gloucestershire afternoon.
