Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth believes Forest Green Rovers will beat the drop after his promotion-chasing side defeated Mark Cooper's team 2-1.
“A win is a win,” said Ainsworth after first half goals from Matt Bloomfield and Craig Mackail-Smith put his side in the driving seat to condem Rovers to a fifth-straight League Two defeat.
He added: “I’m really proud of the way the boys dug in, so that is a positive. The negatives were that Forest Green came at us with ten men, got a lot of ball and got a goal, and we should have been further in front first half.
“An away win has been rare for a while, so nice to get one at the start of the year. The boys are disappointed in the second half rather than celebrating the win, which is good, that’s a sign of a good team, who want to grow and improve.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect what came second half, so fair play to Forest Green, and if they play like that, and I know they will make some signings as well, they have a good chance to stay in this league and I’m sure they will take plenty more points off other people, and hopefully our rivals.”
