CIRENCESTER Tennis club have netted a top LTA gong.

The club have been named Gloucestershire Club of the year.

Club chairman Rachel Snowball said: “This is in recognition of all the hard work by the committee to make the club welcoming and inclusive as well as offering a full and comprehensive programme for all ages.

“We have a very active junior programme, numerous competing teams in the Gloucestershire and Stroud.

“Recently we have resurfaced four courts with artificial clay which has greatly enhanced the facilities.

“The LTA recognise the high standard of management and quality of the facilities. Furthermore the club has exciting development plans for additional floodlighting and an extended and improved clubhouse.”

Rachel was awarded with a trophy as well as cheque for £500.

Additionally the club was awarded with two cups, firstly for the ladies A team who won their division in Summer League and are now promoted into Premier. Meanwhile, the men’s F team won division five.
