THE BEECHES remain on top of the table and looked back to their best in a 2-0 win over Fintan which flattered the visitors.

Returning centre half Dan Fragnoli was rock solid alongside partner James Moorcroft as The Beeches defence looked impregnable.

Beeches moved the ball quickly in the wet conditions, dominating possession and much of the play in all areas.

Their opening goal came in the first half when a ball over the top was brought under control by the lightning quick Joe Stratford before he calmly placed it under the keeper.

Fintan continued to hang on and with The Beeches missing several chances, the score was still only 1-0 at the break.

Beeches started the second half strongly, denying the visitors any real possession.

Scott Smith eventually got the second goal midway through the half, taking down a high ball before beating the Fintan defence with a shot into the bottom corner with the outside of his boot.

The Beeches could have had five or six goals but Fintan deserve plenty of credit for working hard and staying in the game until the end.
