Raceways Shakespeare
ON A cold, dank Saturday morning North Cotswold Tri & Run were well represented at the last ever Raceways Shakespeare running event at Long Marston.
Running in the two-lap 10k were Andy McCoombes and David Pyne both recording respectable finish times of 47.20 and 50.50 respectively as they start their marathon preparation for Edinburgh next May.
Running in the four-lap half marathon were Marianne Badger, Pippa Brown and Laura Williams. Marianne was first home for NCTR recording 1:49.59. However both Pippa and Laura were delighted to set new PBs with Pippa finishing in 1:57.45, a 33-second improvement, and Laura recording 1:58.27, the first time she's been under two hours.
In the eight-lap full marathon Steve Edwards managed to record 3:21.33 despite struggling with an ongoing hamstring niggle. It was Edwards' 803rd marathon.
