Gloucestershire Cross Country League

THE second round of the Gloucestershire Cross Country League took place at Charlton Park near Malmesbury.

Sister’s Kiya and Taya Dee dominated the U13 girls race finishing first and third respectively.

Maite Capper was our third runner home in 24th, bringing the U13 girls' team home in a very good third place.

In the U17 girls, Emily Field and Gabby Jones are adapting well to the longer distance and in racing with the adult women.

Emily was sixth in her age group (39th overall) despite falling twice and finishing with a bloodied leg. Gabby ran a well-paced race for 115th overall and 10th in the U17 race.

The club's U11 boys turned up in numbers to support the club and Kian Dee (16th), Edward Jones (25th) and Arthur Quli (27th) brought the team home in a very good sixth place overall. The B team were close behind in 10th place.

Unfortunately the club do not have the same strength in the U11 girls with Abigail Barnett being the sole runner – but as at Gloucester she put in a great performance for fifth overall.

Christopher Hunt put in a fine display with an excellent ninth place in the U13 boys.

Jake Astor is getting better with each race and took ninth overall in the U15s in a a much larger field than at Gloucester.
