North Wilts U17/18 League Cup
Ashton Youth U18s 4
Ramsbury Youth U17s 1
ASHTON KEYNES U18s progressed to the next round of the North Wilts U17/18 League Cup after beating Ramsbury who play a level below them in Division Three.
The home side started on top, enjoying the lion's share of possession and creating a number of chances.
However, against the run of play the visitors took the lead through Charlie Curry.
Ashton again piled on the pressure and soon found a equaliser as Lewis Griffin hit a thunderbolt of a free kick into the top left corner from 20 yards, giving the Ramsbury keeper very little chance of stopping it.
Lee Plaistow soon added a second for the hosts and Griffin finished off proceedings for the half with his second to make it 3-1 at the break.
The second half saw Ashton dominate again; David Arnett had a goal controversially disallowed and Frazer Heal hit the woodwork.
The final goal eventually came when midfielder Griffin completed his hat-trick.
MoM: Lewis Griffin.
