GFA County Intermediate Cup
FC Barometrics Reserves 3
The Beeches 2
A LACKLUSTRE performance from The Beeches saw them crash out of the County Cup to FC Barometrics Reserves on Saturday.

Beeches had the majority of the play early on without creating chances.

They did take the lead, however, scoring straight from a free kick when Will Power's whipped kick from the side of the area evaded everyone and found the corner of the net.

Barometrics then equalised when James Moorcroft fouled one of the hosts' strikers inside the box and the resulting penalty was tucked away into the bottom left corner.

The second half began as had the first with Beeches dominating possession but creating no chances to score.

The game was made harder for the visitors when centre-back Dan Warriner was sent off, his second yellow coming for kicking the ball away.

Ten minutes later Beeches winger Matthew Walters misjudged a back pass to his defence and a Barometrics striker latched on to the loose ball before converting the chance to make it 2-1.

Pressing forward for an equaliser, Beeches conceded again. Keeper Ryan Heaven sprinted off his line to retrieve a long ball over the top but was beaten to the ball by a Barometrics striker who then finished calmly to make it 3-1.

Beeches did grab a late goal when Walters pounced on a chance in the box which made it 3-2.
