ON A high after winning their last four games and scoring 25 goals, Siddington had a shocker in the county cup at home to Cheltenham club Fintan, losing 5-0.
Siddington were missing key players Jon Reeves, Darren Higgs and Chris Newbold, but had more than enough quality to put on a better show.
Fintan's game plan was to get straight into Siddington and not let them play their football – and it worked.
Fintan were 2-0 up within 15 minutes but Siddington could have been 3-2 ahead themselves had they taken their chances, with Steve Leighfield going closest when hitting the post.
Then with Siddington chasing the game, Fintan made it 3-0.
After the interval Siddington went to three at the back and worked hard to get back in the game.
Even when Fintan got their fourth goal of the game the hosts never gave up but Fintan completed the scoring with a fifth goal five minutes from time.
