GOAL ace Ben Whitehead has committed his future to Cirencester Town until the end of the season.

Whitehead has assured manager Charlie Griffin his head will not be turned by the seven-day approaches the club received this week from both Southern League rivals Evesham United as well as Thatcham Town.

Whitehead, signed by Ciren in the summer from Didcot, took his goal tally this season in league and cup competitions to 12 with a neatly-taken brace of goals in the 2-2 Buildbase FA Trophy draw at Paulton Rovers on Saturday.

"Ben is enjoying his football with us and he wants to stay," said Griffin.

"Ben is a big part of what we are doing at this club.

"In-form strikers like Ben are always going to attract interest. One day a team from a higher level may come in for him but at the moment why would he want to move sideways?"
