Cirencester & District League
Lechlade FC 87 4
Stratton United 1
LECHLADE were not at their best but still managed to put four goals past Stratton United for a comfortable win.
Gary Burgess stood in between the sticks as Lechlade's first choice keeper was absent due to illness and the hosts defended well while at times playing some good pass-and-move football.
Their first goal was scored by Ollie Waite from a quickly taken free kick, taking advantage of the Stratton keeper being off his line.
Danny Western made it 2-0 running through the defence and beating the keeper in a one-on-one. Western added a third with a strike from just outside the box.
The final goal from Lechlade came from Joe Pitts with an assist by Martin Watson as both players showed determination to beat a number of the opposition defenders.
Stratton's consolation goal came from Jack Jeffries.
