CIRENCESTER Town FC's new state-of-the-art 3G pitch is to play host to a new 6-a-side community football league.

No joining fee is needed for teams that sign up for the brand new charity football league which kicks off on Sunday.

And free kit will be available to teams who join ahead of this weekend's launch.

The competition which is run by Leisure Leagues, Europe’s largest provider of small-sided soccer, will take place at Cirencester Town FC every Sunday. Games cost £30 and take place between 6 and 8pm.

There is free entry to the league for a limited time.

Teams will be competing for a range of top prizes including huge custom made trophies, medals and champagne, all in the coveted Leisure Leagues prize box.

Uniquely, profits from the league will be donated to charities and environmental projects including the Dogs Trust and Cancer Research UK.

Business manager Sam Jones said: “We have been running leagues for 30 years and we are confident that we can give the same enjoyment to the community of Cirencester that we have already in so many places.”

Qualified refs – with all equipment provided – will be in charge of the league.

Anyone who wants to register a team can do so on www.leisureleagues.net or for more information they can call 0333 123 2340.
