Bigfreebet Challenge Cup
Cirencester Town 1
Larkhall Athletic 2
CIRENCESTER TOWN lost 2-1 to Larkhall Athletic for the second time in four days at the Corinium Stadium.
A faster-paced encounter than the league clash on Saturday saw the teams go in even at the break, a brilliant dipping effort by Joe Tumelty in the 21st minute being cancelled out by a close range header from Development striker Danny Gudger 10 minutes later.
Gudger had earlier also grazed the post with an effort.
The second period was less end to end with Cirencester dominating possession and playing some slick football, but it was the visitors who were creating the more clear-cut chances on the break.
Again the home side were grateful to keeper Matt Wieczorek who made a number of vital saves.
As Ciren ran out of steam in the closing stages The Larks took control and the winning goal capped a fine personal display from Tumelty in the 88th minute.
