THE Cotswolds & North Wiltshire regional committee of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club are hosting an autumn lunch to raise funds for the club's academy.

It will take place at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, on Friday, November 3 (12 for 12.30pm).

The guest speaker is the cricket writer Stephen Chalke. In 2009, his book The Way It Was – Glimpses of English Cricket's Past, a collection of more than 100 articles written for Wisden and The Times, won the Best Cricket Book category at the 2009 British Sports Book Awards and the National Sporting Club's Cricket Book of the Year.

His latest book, In Sunshine and in Shadow, is the authorised biography of the former Yorkshire and England off spinner Geoff Cope.

Tickets for the lunch are priced at £35 per person to include a reception drink and three course meal. A cash bar is available.
