CIRENCESTER began the new season of the Stroud Table Tennis League with an 8-2 defeat at Nailsworth Phoenix A in Division One.
David Hadley recorded a maximum for the home side.
At this early stage of the season Woodchester A share the top spot as they beat their hosts Nailsworth Phoenix B 8-2. Top man for the visitors was Lee Thomas who won all his singles.
In a closer match, Yate entertained Forest Green A, but it was the visitors who left with six points thanks in part to Dave Harvey who scored a maximum.
