Evo-Stik Southern League West
Cirencester Town 0
Evesham United 1

CIRENCESTER Town survived an early onslaught from an impressive Evesham United but were undone by a single set-piece goal from Leroy Odiero soon after the break.

Evesham had come with positive intent and Matt Wieczorek in the Ciren goal had one of his busier nights.

But the hosts had chances of their own in the first half with Ben Whitehead putting the best chance just wide and Felipe Barcelos denied by a brilliant diving block from Mat Liddiard. Ciren could have crumbled against such a relentless side, for whom Bradley Gray’s set pieces were always on the money and Archie Haskayne had a storming game in midfield.

But the longer the game went on the more Ciren still had a chance of pulling out a draw.

Whitehead put Ciren’s best chance of the second half just over the bar, while the save of the night came from Matt Wieczorek to deny another former Town player Carl Brown.
