Cirencester & District League
Cashes Green Res 1
Siddington 9
STEVE LEIGHFIELD made it 11 goals in two games as his four strikes helped Siddington to beat Cirencester League new boys Cashes Green Reserves 9-1.
Leighfield had put seven past Sherborne Harriers in the opening game of the season so he has already laid down a marker in his bid to become the league's top scorer.
A youthful Cashes Green Reserves did well to hold Siddington at bay for about 20 minutes but then the floodgates opened.
With the league's top marksman in 2016, Dennis King, also in the side, Siddington are full of goals.
King got a hat-trick of his own while Jack Baverstock and James Richards added the other two goals.
With young Mark Ayres in goal Siddington also look solid at the back.
Indeed manager Paul Fenwick has his work cut out this season keeping all his players happy.
Cashes Green scored a consolation goal through Louis Gegg and their very young group will learn from this game and get better.
