North Wilts Youth U17/18 Div Two
Ashton Keynes 4
Blunsdon 2

JOSH CURTIS ended any hopes of a Blunsdon rally with a brilliant solo goal to give Ashton Keynes U18s a 4-2 win.

Both teams started well and created chances but Ashton became the more dominant as the half went on, although neither side could break the deadlock.

Early in the second half Ashton pressed higher up the pitch and that soon paid off with a penalty, which was duly put away by Charlie Cook.

Minutes later a pass from Ed Fish cut straight through the Blunsdon midfield to find Lee Plaistow who dispatched a well-placed shot into the bottom left corner.

Blunsdon rallied and grabbed a quick goal back against the run of play.

Ashton responded well, however, and soon regained their two-goal advantage as Lewis Griffin's near-post run from a corner saw him finish with the deftest of touches.

Blunsdon gathered themselves and pulled another goal back as the game developed into a well-fought contest.

But man of the match Curtis secured the points, picking the ball up halfway in the Blunsdon half, dribbling past three defenders and slotting home casually to restore the two-goal lead.

MoM: Josh Curtis.
