President’s Day
THE 2017 President’s Day was hosted by club president Trevor Hing, MBE on Sunday September 3 with 112 members and guests taking part on a grey, drizzly day.

However, despite the weather, it didn’t dampen the golfers’ enthusiasm.

The eventual winners of the pairs stableford competition were as follows:
Lady Member with Lady Guest: Sue Hodgson & Judie Barton-Hill (Long Ashton) – 43 points.

Lady Member with Lady Member: Jan Flynn & Debbie Chesworth – 41 points; Katie Norton & Emma Brereton – 39 points.

Gentleman with Guest: Mike Burgess & Roy Simpson (Stockport) – 43 points; Chris Allen & Bob Allen (Westonbirt) – 43 points; Gareth Noyes & L Keen (Evesham) – 42 points.

Gentleman Member with Gentleman Member – Andy Bell & Andy Bradley - 44 points, on back nine countback, from Johan Pelser & Sam Emery (44) and Clive Montgomery & Rob Simmonds (44).

Nearest the Pin (Ladies) – 13th hole: Emma Brereton.

Nearest the Pin (Gentlemen) – 18th hole: Jonny Cowley.

Brian Oliver Competition
THE Brian Oliver competition, a mixed pairs stableford event played on Saturday, August 26, was won by the formidable all-ladies team of Deb Organ and Sam Mitchell.

Winners: Deb Organ & Sam Mitchell (47 points).

2nd: Jane Salter & Jeff Salter (45pts on cb).

3rd Stuart Osborn & Gareth Jones (45pts).
