ON Saturday Cirencester welcomed fellow Corse to the park eager to revenge the defeat suffered away earlier in the season.

Gareth Williams won the toss again and asked to bat first on a wicket that looked good despite the rain earlier in the week.

Jamie Jamieson-Black was caught behind early on for just eight but opening partner Mason put together an excellent stand with Jono Jamieson-Black with them adding 60 before Mason departed for 48.

This bought the returning Ben Moody in to the crease. Jono scored freely whilst Moody was more watchful at the other end, the pair added 90 until Jamieson-Black was dismissed by Morgan for a brilliant 75.

With the score at 174-3 Cirencester were very well placed with a lot of overs to spare.

At this point the momentum of the game changed and Corse began to turn the screw leading to a fluffy of quick wickets the remaining seven batsmen only managing to add 34, resulting in Cirencester being all out for 208 in 43.4 overs, Alex Morgan the pick of the bowlers with 4-18.

The Corse reply struggled to get going with opening bowlers Breen and Fullalove bowling very tightly and only four runs coming from the opening five overs.

Breen made the breakthrough clean bowling Jack Tyrer and a superb run out from Jock Jamieson-Black hitting the stumps at the non-strikers end from 20 yards with just one stump to aim at.

With only Corse skipper Dannatt the only batsman to pass 15 on his way to a run a ball 60 Cirencester rounded off another heavy victory.

Gareth Williams with bowled extremely well with figure of 3-31.

This week Cirencester travel to Cheltenham Civil Service hoping to do the double over them and in doing so put pressure on top of the table Dumbleton.
