Apes Hill/Huntington House 6 - 5 1/2Coombe Place

APES Hill/Huntington House knocked Coombe Place off the Cirencester Ladies top spot beating them by a nose 6 - 5 1/2 to make it a new team to lift the trophy for 2017.

They were treated to fabulous flying lesson prizes and make it two out of three of the British 18 Goal Ladies Tournaments, having won at Knepp Castle earlier in the season.

It was Coombe Place that got off to the best start however with Hazel Jackson scoring twice in the first two minutes to add to their 1/2 goal start and make it 2 1/2 - 0.

Apes Hill had made it all back and some by half time though and went into the third chukka 4 - 2 1/2 ahead.

Coombe Place would not go without a fight though and it could have gone either way until the final bell.

An incredible near side neck shot goal from Nina Clarkin made it 6 - 4 1/2 in the final stages with Coombe Place claiming another still, but it wasn’t enough to topple Apes Hill/Huntington House.

Nina Clarkin won the PQ Horsemanship prize and Lottie Lamacraft won Most Valuable Player.

Earlier in the day on Meadow, Monterossa Polo Team beat White Crane to take the Ladies Plate.
