PRE-SEASON at Cirencester RFC is not just about easing refreshed bodies back into the game ahead of the new campaign – the club ground and buildings have to be knocked into shape too.
Last Saturday, as part of the NatWest Rugby Force weekend.
Suitably fortified by a Lions Breakfast when the club entertained 80 guests, some 20 or so volunteers then turned to their hand to strimming, painting, weeding, mowing, and digging maintenance work.
Even Director of Rugby Andy Deacon was seen with a paintbrush in his hand.
Drainage work has been carried out in the 1st XV pitch, as part of a pitch grant from NatWest RugbyForce following a recent pitch inspection and recommendations by RFU head groundsman Keith Kent.
