Championship Medal
CIRENCESTER seniors held their Championship Medal on June 12 and attracted a field of 85 entrants.
The overall winner was the consistent Gerry Bruton in division one with a very good score of net 67.
The next four places went to division two golfers with Ken Anderson also having a net 67 but losing out to Gerry on countback. He was followed in by Robin Johnson (68), Martin Harrison (69) and Brian Hammond (70).
Gerry Bruton and Eric Varcoe both recorded twos on holes 2 & 11 respectively.

Cirencester 2
A TEAM of 12 Cirencester seniors visited the Defence Academy at Shrivenham to play the annual away match on Wednesday, June 14.
The hot conditions obviously did not suit the Cirencester team as they lost the match 4-2.
Dave Marshall & Gerry Bruton as well as Graham Morgan & David Lowbridge scored halves but the only win came from Nigel Curtis & David Neale with a 2&1 victory.
As usual the Defence Academy made the Cirencester team extremely welcome and the whole team really enjoyed the match.
