Bourton Roadrunners Juniors
Gloucestershire AAA Track & Field Championships.

BOURTON Roadrunners juniors competed in the Gloucestershire Track and Field Championships at the Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham with several managing personal bests or at least getting close.

Best results for the club came from:

U11 girls: 3rd Abigail Barnett (2min 17sec); 4th Phoebe Alvin (2.17).

U11 boys (2nd race): 4th Arthur Quli (2.22).

U13 girls: 6th Olivia McMorris (6.07); 7th Isabel Dennett (6.21), both smashing their previous best.

U13 boys: 5th George Quli (5.58) beating his previous best by more than 15 seconds.

U17 girls: 2nd Emily Field (5.08, PB).

U15 boys: 3rd Jake Astor (5.57, PB); 4th Harvey Sawyer (5.50 PB).

Brewers Games
BOURTON ROADRUNNERS juniors produced two winners and a third in the 1500m races at the Brewers Games which took place at the Prince of Wales Stadium, Cheltenham, on May 1.

Emily Field won the U17s race in 5min 18sec and Harvey Sawyer ran well to win the U15 boys in 5.51. Gabby Jones was third U17 girl in 6.07.

Maria Watkins was the club's only junior who took part in the four disciplines of the Quad Kids event, recording 15.3sec in the 100m, 2min 53sec in the 800m, 3.54m in the Long Jump and 16.64m in the Vortex Throw to finish 15th in the girls competition.

BOURTON Roadrunners club president Norman Lane presented the annual award trophies for the youth section.

Athlete of the Year (Girl): Maria Watkins.

Athlete of the Year (Boy): Peter Fletcher.

Jack Oaky Trophy: Maria Watkins.

Runners-up were: Edward Jones, Gabby Jones, Emily Field, Sean Farley, Arthur Quli, Isabel Dennett, George Quli, Abigail Barnett, Christopher Hunt, Arthur Fletcher, Helena West, Annabella Williams, Connor McGuinness-Dean, Charlotte Foster, Robbie Hughes, Charlie Phipp and Celia Darwent.

U13 Girls: Helena West (Gold), Isobel Barnett (Silver).

U15 Girls: Emily Field (Gold).

U17 Girls: Gabby Jones (Gold).

U9 Boys: Arthur Quli (Gold), Noah Williams (Silver).

U11 Boys: George Quli (Gold). Henry Everitt (Silver), Arthur Fletcher (Bronze).

U13 Boys: Thomas Mather (Gold).
